The rescued schools in Puerto Rico have been transformed into vibrant spaces for educommunication, media literacy, and intergenerational social organization. Since their reoccupation following the mass closure of schools and Hurricane Maria, these community initiatives demonstrate how communication and education strengthen resilience, collective memory, and social action.

Building from the community constitutes one of the most democratic and revitalizing processes to cultivate positive social changes.
